Art and Yoga for Field Trips
The Re-Create Zone is Honeybee's Field Trip Art Program. The art classes are based on Eco-friendly projects that give children the chance to express their imaginations and creativity. These classes encourage kids to recognize artistic opportunities beyond the Art Supply Closet. The re-create mission is to broaden our imaginations by creating art from recycled and otherwise unwanted materials while reducing our consumption and waste. Most of the materials used in the Re-create Zone are recycled or reused materials collected by students, parents and myself. Other natural materials are found outside during art collection walks and nature walks; things like sticks, acorns, leaves etc. Art classes at HNS are designed to foster a Flow-Learning style. This simply means that students are not expected to make the same project as their peers. The re-create zone is a place for children to come and express themselves artistically. As an Art Teacher I am here to provide ideas, supplies, guidance, and encouragement while students let their artistic minds and imaginations lead them to create incredible art projects!

Class Descriptions:
All classes are held outside in warm weather! Recycled Crafts Kids will use recycled materials to create various art projects. Recycled Games Kids will have fun making their favorite games and inventing new games using recycled materials! Recycled Instruments Kids will enjoy making their own instruments using recycled materials. Nature Art We will incorporate objects that we find outside into fun art projects. Building with Nature We will collect and use items found outdoors to build... forts, games, toys, etc. The possibilities are endless! Painting with Nature We will use objects in nature to paint with, on, and around! Art and Yoga Art and Yoga is a unique class that will begin with a 30 minute yoga session and end with a meditative art activity. Yoga Adventures($10) Ages 3-6 We will embark on Adventures through the Jungle, Ocean, or Outer Space while practicing yoga postures, playing games, and listening to stories! *Clay making This is a 4-week consecutive class. Students will learn how to make, mold, bake, and paint clay! *Paper Mâché This is a 4-week consecutive class. Students will use newspaper and other various reused materials to build and create Art. They will make Paper Mâché paste and paint their creations. |
