Erika McDonald - Owner and Manager
Celebrating her 10th year at Honeybee Nature School, Erika McDonald is a passionate educator, mentor, and advocate for connecting children with nature. With a B.S. in Health Promotion from Weber State, she has spent over a decade fostering creativity, curiosity, and a deep respect for the Earth, self, and others at Honeybee.
Beyond the classroom, Erika loves spending her time helping Ogden residents learn about and become more sustainable by working with the Ogden Sustainability committee. She has also spent years dedicating her time teaching children and adults to foster creative expression through artistic and physical modalities, working with local nonprofits like GOAL and Nurture the Creative Mind. As Director since 2018, she has expanded HNS to include Kindergarten, After School programs, and a growing Homeschool Co-op.
Her vision is to continue expanding Honeybee Nature School through student-led projects, community mentorships, and service opportunities-building a strong support system where children and families can truly thrive. She is currently laying the groundwork to grow Honeybee into the non-profit sector and is very excited to see the opportunities that come with that. -

Ryann Henneberger - Director in Training and Teacher
Ryann Henneberger is starting her first year at Honeybee and is so excited to be joining the wonderful community we have at Honeybee Nature School! While she may be new to teaching, her love for kids and passion for the natural world have been long-standing.
She believes that children learn best when they're immersed in nature, and can't wait to explore the outdoors alongside them, making every moment an adventure.
Outside of school, Ryann enjoys camping, skiing, traveling, and spending time in nature with her friends and family. Having spent countless hours hiking, spending time in the mountains, and simply appreciating the beauty of the natural world, she is eager to share that love and excitement with the students.
Her goal is to create a supportive and joyful environment where children can explore, ask questions, and develop a deep connection with the world around them. Though this is a new chapter for her, she is eager and committed to fostering curiosity, creativity, and a sense of wonder in every child we work with.
Ryann is looking forward to learning and growing alongside your child and embracing all the amazing experiences that nature has to offer!
